Epsom Salts
Epsom Salt
I have spoken about using Epsom salts in detox baths before and use Epsom salts for laundry and foot soaks as well. Epsom Salt in Miami is incredibly soothing and versatile! But did you know they are not all created equally?
What is Epsom salt in Miami?
It is actually made up of magnesium sulfate which is a mineral. It was named after where it was found, in Epsom, a town in England! All across the board, this is the standard ingredient in any brand you buy. If you see a USP designation and a drug facts box on the label, it is safe for humans to use. If you do not see the USP designation that means it is meant for agricultural purposes.
Unfortunately, as per usual, some companies like to add toxic ingredients that end up doing worse for us than good. The most common toxic ingredient I find in most Epsom salt brands is fragrance.
We want to avoid anything that has the term "fragrance" in it because it is a term used to cover up for 100's of chemicals that are unidentified and can do much more harm than the good we are trying to do for our bodies through detox baths.
I have NLW approved brands in the picture below!
