Hand Sanitizer
Hand Sanitizer
It is a go-to for everyone, myself included! With two sometimes messy kids in tow, we cant go without! I am not a germophobe, but I do NOT appreciate grimy places either
I am very picky about which sanitizers to use though because I tend to get dry hands, but I am also very weary of "triclosan". Thankfully, most companies are starting to remove this ingredient from most products but you will find them lurking in toothpastes, etc. But that doesn't mean these sanitizers are super toxinfree either. Why?
This is the ingredient list of a popular brand of hand-sanitizer. What do you think:
- Water
- Isopropyl Alcohol
- Fragrance (Parfum)
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
- Honey Extract
- Coconut Fruit Extract
- Olive Fruit Extract
- Retinyl Palmitate
- Dimethicone
- Hydroxypropylcellulose
- Dimethiconol
- Laureth-23
- Laureth-4
- Glycerin
- Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
- Hydroxyethal Urea
- Alumina
- Isopropyl Myristate
- Aminomethyl Propanol
- Propylene Glycol
- Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)
- Red 33 (CI 17200) (carmine, why??)
- Yellow 5 (CI 19140) (why coloring??)
WHY compromise for using something with so many bad ingredients when there ARE better options!!!
My go-to? Dr. Bronner's Hand Sanitizer!
Super easy, cheaper and the ingredient list is MUCH safer. What is it made of?
- Organic fair trade ethyl alcohol
- Water
- Organic glycerin
- Organic lavender oil
I purchase mine from Whole Foods but if you don't have one close by, I will link you a great one in the comment below. They have other scents as well that are DISCLOSED in the ingredient list. Don't just trust what is out there friends! Read labels, research ingredients and know there are ALWAYS better options available! I am here to help if you ever need a second pair of eyes!
